MARIA SHELL: Journey of an Alaskan Quilter

Maria's artwork is firmly grounded in the craft of quiltmaking. It has taken her many years to acquire the cutting, piecing, and quilting skills she now uses daily.   Limiting the structure of her work to a grid has allowed her to more fully explore her love of color.

Maria will speak of her quilting journey:  living in Alaska, raising children, and becoming an internationally known quilter.
